Kimberly has extensive experience and educational background in creating and sustaining impactful organizations and programs in the US, Norway, South Sudan, Uganda and South Africa. She is co-founder of Girl Up Initiative Uganda and has previously worked at Global Fund for Women, Partnership for Change, and the Valentino Achak Deng Foundation.
Kimberly holds a Master in Philosophy in Comparative and International Education from the University of Oslo, a Master in Philosophy in African Studies (distinction) from the University of Cape Town, and a Bachelor of Arts in International Development (honors) from the University of California, Berkeley. She has published a paper: 'Now that I'm pregnant, I'm no longer an example': peer educator experiences of an HIV prevention programme in Cape Town, South Africa in the Journal of Sex Education.
Kimberly has lived, studied and worked in various African countries, which has given her an understanding of the specific challenges and opportunities that come with working and engaging across cultures and nationalities to achieve a common goal.
